If you have an HTC Desire S that is unbranded or on Orange, Vodaphone and O2 you either have or will be receiving the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update. This is mostly a UK Desire S update and comes with some great improvements to the UI.
Some of the features you will see with this new update are a new custom HTC user interface that is updated to HTC Sense 3.0. You will now see a new lockscreen with new elements and a new pull down notification menu. Those of you that have seen this update please let us know how its going and if there are any issues with it.
i am having a problem with my htc desires when unlocking from the new lock screen the phone takes a while to load the home screen the widget and apps take a while to load actually placing one at a time. i am currently using the mobilocker
I’m having the following issues with this update (which updated the end of October):
1. No shut down, restart or flight mode feature when you press the button at the top (i.e. you cannot turn off your phone unless you take out the batttery).
2. The alarm removes itself (when set to go off) so i can no longer reply on the alarm feature.
3. Sometimes the screen goes off and no button pressing can get it on. The only way i have found to get the phone ‘back on’ is to remove the back and battery and then start up.
That’s it so far… but i’m sure there are more niggly bits. Otherwise i think this update is pretty damn good.
I did the update a week ago (south africa) and ever since the update, my phone just switch off and the htc screen (start screen) stays on for 2 min, sometimes longer. Its frustrating! How can i fix this? Besides that one problem, i love the update.
