LG G2X Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Release

Finally in response to a lawsuit claiming that LG and T-Mobile were taking their time on a software update for the G2X it is available. This update is not being pushed automatically over the air yet although you can install it manually with LG’s Update Tool.

Keep in mind that if you are updating your phone and its rooted this will remove your root. Also this is a manual update so you will need a Windows machine and room for a 180MB file.

LG G2X Gingerbread update Instructions:

Download the LG Update Tool (B2CAppSetup)
Run the Tool on a Windows Computer and listen to what it says
Thats it let it do its magic

Alternatively you can just wait and the update will be available soon via an OTA update from T-Mobile on your LG G2X. Please let us know how the update goes.
