Skype for Android now Allows Video Calling

Today an update was released for Skype that will allow video calling on select devices. With the promise of video calling with Skype for some time now we are glad to see them finally delivering at least to some Android users.

Currently Supported Devices for Video Calling Include:

  • Google Nexus S
  • HTC Desire S
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy S (running Android 2.2)

The update to Skype has also changed the user interface a bit to make it look more like the desktop applications. If you have a slower phone we recommend staying with the previous version and avoiding the update as its very resource intensive. This being said the interface looks nice even if difficult to navigate at times.
