Flash for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Devices

2

Those of us that have been using Android 4.1 Jelly Bean have noticed that there is no flash support and according to Adobe never will be. Since Adobe has stated that they will no longer support flash after Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich its up to the community to start trying to support it themselves. XDA user truth77 has posted an update to Adobe Flash to version 11.1.115.20 for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean users.

The update to Flash is available on Google Play although when trying to download it on an Android 4.1 device will tell you that its not compatible. All you need to do is download the APK and side load it on your device instead of going through the Play store.

Download the Flash for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean APK

After you have installed the apk you will notice that when using the Chrome browser you are still out of luck. To our knowledge there is still no way of getting Flash on the Google Chrome app. So it should make sense that this Adobe Flash version will only work on the stock Android browser and not Chrome. We have tried the apk on a few different devices and it has worked on them all so let us know below if it does or doesn’t work for you and the device you are using.  Also anything that you notice that can be done to improve the process or you think others should know please feel free to post via comments below.

UPDATE: As we stated earlier this APK is for the stock Android browser and will not work with the Chrome app.  This being said we have been told that this works with the Firefox app as well although we haven’t personally tested this.
