There has been a lot of speculation about a second generation Nexus 10 tablet being released by Google. We have seen many leaks and predicted specifications but nothing solid from Google. This being said with all of the buzz and leaks around the new Nexus 10 we are optimistic about it being released this year and possibly this quarter.
Based on so many consistent rumors the stock Android tablet’s form and features are all but known. Since Google will have to compete with tablets like the iPad Air the processor will likely be a Samsung Exynos Quad-core chip which also means it will likely be manufactured by Samsung again. Another proof that if and when the tablet is released it will be under the Samsung brand is the recent patent partnership between Google and Samsung.
There has been mention of the release of the Nexus 10 2 coming with a again newer version of Android being Android 4.5 Lollipop although there is nothing to back this up yet and its likely not going to be a reality. Of course the Exynos Quad-core mentioned earlier as well as a WXQGA display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 3GB of RAM. The storage will probably be inline with other models with a 16GB and 32GB model and a 5MP rear facing camera.
New Features to be expected with the Nexus 10 2
- Improvements to the native camera app including an improved navigation and fixes from the previously issue packed KitKat camera app. With this would come more editing and clip filtering with better pictures in low light.
- Softer user interface features and visual aspects.
- There have been mention of other subtle changes like an improved calculator and on screen volume control improvements. This also covers items like more customization involving volume levels within specific apps and certain notifications.
Our thoughts on the Second Generation Nexus 10
While most of the information above has no real factual backing everything seems to be consistent among many different sources. Some less reliable than others but at this point all we have is speculation and why not embellish it and see how close the real deal is to what is expected. I would take this with a grain of salt although it does pose the questions “when will Google announce either the death of the Nexus 10 line?” or “when will they actually announce its existence?”.
Any thoughts on the release of the new Nexus 10 2 would be great from the community as well as any reasons that something stated above will likely not happen are welcome. Again this is all based on rumors so don’t hold us to any of it.
