Besides that SAMOLED plus display and LTE radio, the Samsung Droid Charge has no crazy locks on the bootloader. Most of you know that this means easy custom ROMs and kernels. Android Central forums has been working on the Altered Beast Project, and have everything working very well with a great looking mod. While they are still testing this mod has been developed to the point of semi-stability.
If you can’t handle a few bugs here and there you will have to wait for it although those of you ready to grab the first ROM for your Droid Charge its available for you now.
The ROM is completely deodexed, most of the bloat is removed, working Clockwork recovery built in, and has a custom VooDoo kernel. Best of all, it has great instructions and support.

The Droid Charge doesn’t seem to have an easy way to recover once you have an issue with the OS. There is a tool available though get your Droid Charge back to the stock platform.
Droid Charge Recovery Boot Tool:
This tool was not created by Android Advice and we don’t take any responsibility for its use. This recovery tool is here strictly in the event you have no other choice. (although I don’t see any issues with it at the moment)

The Samsung Droid Charge is an Android phone on Verizon’s LTE network. It sports Android 2.2 (Froyo), 1 GHz processor, rear-facing 8 MP camera, front-facing 1.3 MP camera, and a 4.3-inch Super-AMOLED display.
The Samsung Droid Charge has officially been on sale for less than 24 hours now, and a system update has already been released. Update ED2 is just a minor little thing, a 5.2-megabyte update that brings a couple of fixes to Samsung’s Media Hub app. And the fixes are:
- A software change was made to the Media Hub application to prevent downloading content over the 3G network. This application will only work in the 4G network or when using Wi-Fi to ensure quality and speed.
- A pop up message was added to the Media Hub application to inform customers of the size of the download when in a 4G coverage area before downloading.
We’re never really happy to see a software update that takes away functionality, but there you have it. So if you’re dead set on using Media Hub over 3G, might wanna hold off on this one.
