Google has decided it was time to release the source code for a few of their Nexus devices on Sprint and AT&T. Samsung just recently released source for their Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Tab devices. Now its Google’s turn with source codes released for a few of theirs.

The devices that Google has released factory images for are the Galaxy Nexus on Sprint with Android 4.1.1 available, as well as Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus S 4G images for Android 4.1.1. If that wasn’t enough the factory image for Android 4.1.2 was also released for the AT&T Nexus S. With the closed source CDMA devices like Sprint uses these are nice to see since in the past it was much more difficult to obtain.

Even thought the Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the greatest Android devices available right now, even the best will have an issue now and again. Reseting the Samsung Galaxy S3 to its factory condition is not a difficult process and can be easily done by any level of user. The easiest solution to fixing device errors is doing a factory reset or “hard reset”. What a hard reset is, is basically a software process that erases all information that has been added to the device since turning it on for the first time.

There are many reasons to do a factory reset on your Android device like getting it ready to sell, corruption to the file system by apps, or just slow down from everyday usage.

NOTE: Factory resetting the Samsung Galaxy S3 will erase all data on the device so be sure to backup anything that you don’t want lost forever.

How to Factory Reset (Hard Reset) the Samsung Galaxy S3:

1. View your Apps and tap on the “Settings” app
2. Once in Settings tap on the “Storage” tab
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap on “Factory Data Reset”
4. Follow on screen instructions and select “Erase Everything”
5. Last confirm the action by tapping “Yes”
6. Your Galaxy S3 will now reboot after the process is completed
7. Congrats your Samsung Galaxy S3 is back to Factory condition

Once you factory reset your Samsung Galaxy S# you will need to setup your Google Play account again by attaching your Google account and then re-install all of the apps that you need.

With the HTC One X being one of the most popular phones available right now what do you do when you want to sell it or just wipe it out and start over? Well doing a factory reset on the HTC One X is easier than you might think with two ways to accomplish it. If your phone just won’t turn on skip to the second method.

HTC One X Factory Reset from Settings:

1. Go to the HTC One X Settings
2. Navigate to “Storage” -> “Factory Data Reset”
3. Select “Reset Phone”
4. Then Tap “Erase Everything”
5. Wait for the Reset and your done

HTC One X Factory Reset (Can’t get to Settings)

1. Hold the volume down button and power button
2. When you see three Android images release all buttons
3. Press Volume down to “Factory Reset”
4. Press the Power button to select
5. Wait for the HTC One X to Reset

The Motorola Atrix 4G is still a very fast quality Android phone, the only issue is the fact that it bogs down bad after heavy use. After you have had an Atrix 4G for about six months to a year it would benefit you to do a factory reset. You can easily format internal storage but to actually get the Atrix 4G back to the condition it was the day you bought it you need to do a hard factory reset.

NOTE: This will completely wipe the entire device including all apps, photos, videos, etc. Backup anything you don’t want to lose before doing the factory reset.

How to Completely Reset your Motorola Atrix 4G:

1. Turn off your Atrix 4G
2. Turn on the Atrix holding the Vol down button
3. When you see fastboot at the top of the screen release the vol down button
4. Press vol down until you get to “Android Recovery”
5. Press power button to select “Android Recovery”
6. Once you see a yellow triangle press both vol up and vol down
7. Use Vol down to navigate to Factory Data Reset
8. Press Power to select then select Yes to confirm the same way
9. Wait for the process to complete and go back to the menu
10. Press power to select “Reboot Device”
11. Congrats once it reboots you will come to the MotoBlur screen!

We don’t have an exact date but can assume this week by Verizon’s past when it comes to releasing the changelog on their site. Generally Verizon will push updates within a week of this notice and most of the time within a few days.
