During the Google I/O Ice Cream Sandwich Preview “Head Tracking” was brought up as a feature available to developers. It is what it sounds like, your devices camera will know where your head is and display differently based on where you are in relation to the screen. This “Head Tracking” will allow things like video chat finding your face and staying focused on it, changing perspective on a 3D scene based on angle, etc.

At I/O Google demoed a version of this with face distortion and sound sensitive video chat zoom. This will be available to all developers within Ice Cream Sandwich in the form of API’s. We can’t wait to see how developers use this new feature.
