Finally T-Mobile and HTC are releasing an OTA (over the air) update for the HTC Sensation to fix known issues since its release. The update will bring the software up to version 1.50.531.1 and Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 to the device.

• Improved Trace Dictionary
• More Responsive Screen
• Smoother Icons
• Improved WiFi Connection

If you haven’t received the update in the form of an OTA you can always manually check for it. Go to “Settings -> About Phone -> HTC Software Update -> Check Now”. Please let us know what you notice in the update good or bad.

Browsing around we noticed that Android Central seems to have gotten their hands on some news about an upcoming update to the HTC Sensation. Either the American or European version will be getting this enormous update judging by the image.

HTC Sensation Update 1.35.0.0

• Version 1.35.0.0
• OTA file size is 369 MB (assuming WiFi is the route to go)

Android Central speculates that the only reason that the update could be that large is to improve the performance on some major features. This update doesn’t seem to be an Android OS update so we aren’t sure what to expect.

We will keep you informed as we find out more information on this Sensation 4G update.

HTC will be sending out an OTA Update to the HTC Sensation soon.  This update will unlock the HTC Sensation Bootloader.  Since HTC announced that they will no longer be locking bootloaders on their devices these updates have been in the works.

When contacting HTC about the Sensation’s bootloader being unlocked the following response is sent:

“We are currently developing new bootloader unlocked software for your phone. HTC is still committed to allowing our customers to unlock the bootloaders if they wish, however we are still implementing the policy and many updates were already finalized prior to our change in policy. We apologize for the inconvenience, but be assured that we are working on a solution for our customers and our commitment has not changed. Please stay tuned to our official channels for ongoing updates on how we will be implementing this policy. Thank you for your patience.”

We are all excited that not only an Android manufacturer is listening to the community but they are actually following through in a timely manner.
