HTC Evo 3D

HTC again releases updates quickly to address bugs and make enhancements to already released devices. HTC now targets the EVO 3D for update version 2.08.651.2. The update has began rolling out already although it will not get to all users until August 23rd.

HTC EVO 3D Enhancements and Fixes:

• Device Lock Screen in “half-state”
• Ability to transfer all contacts over bluetooth
• Birthday one day off between contacts and Facebook when synced
• Random GPS coordinates issue
• Lockscreen displays 3 digit temperature correctly
• Spiderman demo lockups
• Making bloatware uninstallable
• Update to some applications

Important Notes:
A software update to 2.08.651.2 will be available starting 8/18/11 via client initiated and 8/23/11via network initiated for the HTC EVO 3D. Stores are recommended to update demo devices to the most current software shown.

To manually update your EVO 3D:

1. Go to “settings -> system updates -> HTC software update -> Check now -> OK”
2. Once the download is complete click “OK” in popup window
3. Device will reboot and begin installing the update
4. Be patient it will take about 10 minutes to install

If you want to check software version after install:

1. Go to “settings -> about phone -> software information
2. Software version should now be 2.08.651.2

HTC Inspire 4G users have been patiently waiting for their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update and the time has finally came. You can check for system updates on your phone now or go to the HTC Support site and download the update.

HTC Inspire™ 4G for AT&T Gingerbread ROM Update | 08.08.2011

Starting August 4th 2011, HTC will be rolling out a system update for the HTC Inspire 4G.

This update will only be available for AT&T HTC Inspire 4G Customers and will be sent to the device over the air. Once the release is ready, HTC Inspire 4G users will receive a notification on their device advising them of this update and provide instructions to receive and install it. Users can proactively check for this update by going to Home>Menu>Settings> AT&T Software Update > HTC Wi-Fi software update > Check now. The system update can also be downloaded below and manually applied to the device.

Be sure that before you run this update (download or OTA) that you have everything backed up. Any phone contacts not stored remotely will be lost as Gingerbread does not store local contacts.
