Android growing as it has and being as open as it is has caused competition between Android UI’s. Major competition comes from HTC, Samsung and Motorola but one that seems to be moving in pretty fast is Huawei who will debut their Emotion UI some time next month. Generally brands are only chosen over each other based on their custom UI’s as Android is what it is no matter how you tag it.
Currently there are no official dates for current Huawei devices to receive the Emotion UI update although we will assume that there will at least be a few to get the update. Huawei recently delayed the release of their newest flagship Android device, the Ascend D Quad to be released in July with the new Emotion UI. While there isn’t much information on the new UI nor the features that will come with it, Huawei has described it as “emotional”, “simple, and “smart”.
Honestly manufacturers without their own UI to compete with larger manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and Motorola will likely have a difficult time getting noticed. We will let you know as we find out more about the new Huawei Emotion UI.
