Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Incredible S

With the release of Ice Cream Sandwich Source developers have been going crazy with ports for devices. This time XDA members st.matt and lost.prophet from XDA forums have ported Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the HTC Incredible S.

With the port over to ICS on the HTC Incredible S there are only a few things that aren’t quite there yet. Tethering, UMS, USB tethering and the camera aren’t quite working yet. Some users may not care about the few non-working parts although we can only assume that everything will be working soon.

Let us know how the ROM runs for those of you that decide to use it. We will be trying to get our hands on an Incredible S to test it out ourselves but until then we rely on the community for reviews.

It looks like Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is finding its way on the Sony Xperia Phones unofficially. Some of the members over at XDA have successfully ported Ice Cream Sandwich on the Xperia x10 (seen above). Everyone wants Android 4.0 on their device although we know many phones will not get the official update.

We can assume that any device that can handle Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will receive it one way of another. Most phones will not get the official update but almost all should have a ported version of Android 4.0 before its all over. This port to the Xperia Phones is still in early testing and probably wont be available to the public until its at least functional for normal use.
